South Shore Recycling (SSR) purchases, processes and markets recyclable metals and other commodities. Immediate payment is made to sellers of scrap materials based on honest weights and fair grading.

SSR receives materials from local trades (plumbers, electricians, contractors) and other suppliers that generate small to medium quantities of scrap in and around the Chicagoland area. Customers are larger processors and consumers of ferrous and non ferrous scrap metals.

SSR is unique in that the entire operation is located indoors. Suppliers drive into the building, weigh their loads on either a full length truck scale or platform scale, and unload their materials, all under cover and away from the elements outside. SSR treats suppliers with respect and strives to process orders in the shortest possible time while paying competitive pricing at all times for recyclable materials.

Generally suppliers deliver to SSR, but transportation can be arranged for both inbound and outbound materials by truck and/or rail.
